about
I wrote this song months back during the second semester of university. It was the first year of university, first job, first time being an adult, and all the pressure was starting to get to me. I just wanted to stop existing and not have problems anymore. But part of me knew that that way wasn't the answer which is why there's such a contrast between the two halves of the song.
lyrics
Popcorn speckled sky
Thinking about my past mistakes
Where I went wrong, lost my way
And now
The corner of my eyes
Slowly filling with my tears
Quiet, can't let them know
The way it's always been
It's become routine
It's the same old scene
It's the only way I fall asleep
The way it's always felt
Like there's no one else
With me in this hell
But now I
Can't seem to find
A reason to
Keep on keeping on
So that's why
I'd rather die
Than try to
Keep on keeping on
Sheets of navy blue
Wasted all my youth away
I got to get up
But today I can't
There's only two more hours
I'm spacing off into my dreams
A weird reality that's mine
The way it's always been
It's become routine
It's the same old scene
It's the only way I fall asleep
The way it's always felt
Like there's no one else
With me in this hell
But now I
Can't seem to find
A reason to
Keep on keeping on
So that's why
I'd rather die
Than try to
Keep on keeping on
Maybe there's another way that I can go
Baby can you show me 'cause I don't know
Maybe there's another way that I can go
I don't know, can you show me which way to go?
Maybe there's another way that I can go
Baby can you show me 'cause I don't know
Maybe there's another way that I can go
I don't know, can you show me which way to go?
Maybe there's another way that I can go
Baby can you show me 'cause I don't know
Maybe there's another way that I can go
I don't know, can you show me which way to go?
Maybe there's another way that I can go
Baby can you show me 'cause I don't know
Maybe there's another way that I can go
I don't know, can you show me which way to go?
